sickness.

I have a fever. I don’t think my body has yet adjusted to New Orleans, and I am sure my boss is more than tired of getting calls in from me. It requires a special immune system to live here. I’ve always been mostly hardy, aside from extremely bad cramps and migraines. But in NOLA, couple that with sore throats every time the wind changes, stuffy headed-ness, dizziness, dry and itchy skin, ear infections, leaky Eustachian tubes and a whole gamut of other sneezes and coughs that I can’t explain.

In other news, I did not get into the art show I thought I was in. It’s more of a crafts show. I’d like to do my crafty things but I don’t seem to want to do them as much as I want to paint. Here is a cool idea, courtesy of lifehacker:

Crafter Amanda turns simple plastic grocery bags into tote bags, wallets, floor cushions, and waterproof liners for beach bags—by fusing them together with an iron. Cut, flatten and layer six to eight bags on the ironing board, place parchment paper over them, and iron the whole stack to meld it into a useful, reusable thicker plastic for sewing together every which way. See the post for examples of what you can do with the stuff. Don’t forget you can also crochet grocery bags, too.

Random otherstuff:

  • There is one thing I hate more than doing taxes and that is parallel parking.
  • EVERYONE needs a down pillowtop for their mattress.  I promise.  We found one hanging on a post on Saint Phillip and febreze’d and dried it out.  It is heaven.
  • Praise SCRAW and his unencrypted wireless connection.  I promise to find you and give you my WPA once I get internet here.
  • Found:  down mattress pillowtop.  Be still my heart.  And down pillows, found hanging on a fence in the French Quarter.  I just need a down comforter and I’ll be set.

I am pretty woozy again.  Going back to sleep now.
